About Me
My hallmark, registered at the London Assay Office.
It all started when…
Autumn 2017 I had an idea about a unique gift for my wife's birthday late the following year. I'd sourced a beautiful Tanzanite gem, and was in the process of shopping around for somebody to set it in an item of jewellery for me.
Inspiration hit, and I wondered if it would be possible to order a setting in a precious metal, and set the gem myself in order to add an extra bit of uniqueness and a personal touch. This lead me down a path of learning about gem settings, tutorials, courses, etc - and ultimately had me asking myself the question “what if I could make the setting from scratch? I’ve got about a year to learn… could I do it?”.
I subscribed to online training covering jewellery and silversmithing, setup my workshop here in Shropshire, and learned about cutting, melting, shaping, forming and working with precious metals. Incidentally, I also learned that silver is still rather hot after soldering, anvils are heavy, and forming hammers have an appetite for finger nails.
The birthday pendant was a success, and I found that I didn’t want to stop there!
I’ve been expanding my skillset and range of tools and equipment ever since - taking private commissions for pieces and keeping a modest local display cabinet stocked with a whole variety of items, depending on where my creativity takes me.
I have a hallmark (see the image at the top of the page), registered at the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office in London - it guarantees provenance of an item, and that it conforms to all legal standards of purity (fineness).
I have mainly been working with silver, Sterling (925) and Fine (999), slowly branching out into gold. Everything from earrings to bracelets and pendants - some with precious stones, faceted or cabochon, some without; all stunning items that have been a big hit with my clients.
Handmade jewellery, made with precision and care - bespoke designs, commissions, repairs, modifications, cleaning and polishing; you can contact me via the contact page in the navigation at the top or find me on instagram.
The gallery on this site will continue to grow, and a webstore will be added soon…
